To bring impactful change in the way transportation systems are designed in various countries, there is a need for dialogue. The World Bank conducted an event on 12th March 2025, where many speakers from around the world provided their key insights on the way local communities can contribute to the way transportation systems are designed.
The event ‘Driving Change, Delivering Solutions’ was hosted by the World Bank, where it was discussed how technological innovation has brought impactful change in the transportation system. For sustainable change, it was remarked by Anaclaudia Rossbach that “inclusivity is the foundation, not an obstacle.” To bring impactful change in the transportation systems that reduces carbon emissions, it is essential to create an integrated planning system to connect the housing with the commuting to other places. It is essential to understand the significance of the reduction of carbon emissions.
Having better transportation systems should also create more job opportunities for people. Instead of concentrating only on the reduction of carbon emissions, sustainability cannot be achieved. While thinking about the way to improve the way transportation systems are designed in a country, it also provides a great opportunity for the government to create more jobs for both men and women. Encouraging genders of different kinds to improve the way the transportation system is designed can be effective in promoting inclusivity.
