The Bangla School of Bangladesh Center for Community Development Inc. (BCCDI) observed International Mother Language Day with deep respect and heartfelt remembrance.
The program paid tribute to the brave martyrs of the Language Movement who sacrificed their lives on February 21, 1952, to protect and preserve the Bangla language. The observance began with laying flowers at the symbolic Shaheed Minar, followed by the national anthems of Bangladesh and the United States, along with a solemn moment of silence in honor of the martyrs.
Students, teachers, and parents gathered together to reflect on the historical significance of Ekushey February. The school premises were beautifully decorated with flowers and traditional Bangla alphabet letters, symbolizing pride in our linguistic heritage.
Students actively participated in poetry recitations, patriotic songs, speeches, and dance performances. The event concluded with a renewed commitment to uphold the dignity of the Bangla language and to pass on the values of the Language Movement to future generations.
